The river is slow and cool, and the foliage so abundant. (I donated this painting in October of 2016 for the Gualala River Run, to benefit Action Network Family Resource Centers in Gualala and Point Arena, CA.)
Born in Chiang Mai, Thailand, I've lived in California since high school. After many years in the San Francisco Bay Area, I moved to the northern California coast to enjoy open spaces and nature. I paint in several modes: plein air and representational painting with oil on canvas; mixed media abstracts on paper and canvas; and painting on old wooden doors. Gualala is a place on the Northern California coast where the sea and the tall timber meet. Camping on this river inlet in the ancient forest was pure delight in the early 60's Thanks for the memories, Asha.
